Hi! I'm Karyn, your longarm quilter!
It's so nice to meet you!
I began quilting on a dare! My daughter "dared" me to use my old sewing machine - or else she was going to take it to college! I got out the machine and went to my local JoAnn Fabrics and bought a precut queen size quilt kit. Why start small?
After many learning trials and errors, I completed the top. I found a local shop that offered longarm quilting and when I saw that machine, I was star struck and knew immediately that longarm quilting was going to be my destiny!
My first machine was a hobbyist model. I learned my skills with many quilting masters at the Machine Quilters Expo and started my business quilting for local friends and guild members. I did a lot of charity quilts! I still quilt for charity with my guild.
A few years later, I traded up to a commercial longarm machine, my Innova Classic 26". We are a team!
I have shown many of my personal quilts at the county fair and also at larger regional shows and I am proud of the ribbons I have received. I love the comments from the judges as they help me get better at the details of show quilting. I have had the pleasure of seeing my work on customer's quilts at shows all along the East Coast and many of them have won nice ribbons for their makers.
I treat each and every quilt with the same loving attention as I do my own work. Each quilt is special and my goal is to make your quilt come alive and put a smile in your heart when you touch it and know it was quilted with the loving attention it deserves!
I live and work in Columbia County, in a small hamlet in the Upper Hudson Vally of New York.
I look forward to quilting for you for many years to come.
