PREPARING YOUR QUILT TOP AND BACKING

What size should my backing be?​

Here's an easy way to remember: Add 8-10 inches to the diameter of your top. If your top is 60 x 80, the backing should be at least 68 x 88.  It can be bigger, but not smaller.

TIDY IT UP!​

Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!​

 

QUILTING CHOICE

There are a lot of options!  In the form below, please give me an idea of what you would like to see on your quilt.  Would you prefer a modern, geometric design?  Something with swirls, feathers, stars or flowers?  If you are not sure, rest easy knowing I will be able to suggest some ideas and you will be able to approve the choice before I start.

CUSTOM or EDGE to EDGE?

If you would like something special on your quilt to fulfill your artistic expression, I can quilt your project with custom computerized designs, free motion or with the use of rulers.  Please indicate this on the form below and we will schedule a design consultation and get your approval before I begin.  Please note that custom quilting takes quite a while longer to execute and is more expensive - so if time is of the essence or you have a particular budget, then a beautiful edge to edge design will be your best choice.
